NASA's Earth Now is a powerful application that offers a comprehensive visual representation of recent global climate data derived from Earth Science satellites. It presents vital information on various environmental parameters such as surface air temperature, carbon dioxide levels, carbon monoxide concentrations, ozone concentrations, water vapor content, as well as gravity and sea level variations.
The application utilizes visually appealing "false color" maps to effectively convey the data sets to users. These maps are accompanied by easy-to-understand color-coded legends that provide users with a clear understanding of the relative strength or weakness of each environmental condition.
One of the standout features of Earth Now is its ability to generate a dynamic 3D model of the Earth. Users can effortlessly rotate this model using a single finger stroke, allowing for an immersive exploration of the planet's climate data. Furthermore, the application supports zooming in or out by using a simple pinch gesture with two fingers.
This remarkable tool was meticulously developed by the talented Earth Science Communications and Visualization Technology Applications and Development Teams at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, with unwavering support from NASA Headquarters.
